I am a believer in the risen Christ and am saved by grace. I am a father of seven and grandfather of eighteen. Professionally, I spent fourteen years in the USAF as an aircraft mechanic, three years as an active duty Air Force Recruiter and my final three years I was a trainer for an Air Force recruiting squadron. After retiring from the world's finest air and space power I worked in retail management for eight years. Shortly after leaving retail I substitute taught in a secondary life skills classroom at the local high school and loved it! I have a Master's of Science in Education from Purdue University and am licensed to teach K - 12 special education in the State of Indiana.
I began teaching at Carroll Consolidated Jr / Sr High School as a behavior management specialist. During this time I was also completing my student teaching requirements. At the end of that school year I gained a position 50 miles closer to my home as a 6th grade special educator at Rensselaer Central Middle School. From January 2016 to December 2018 I served as a missionary teacher through Resourcing Christian Education International (RCE) as a Special Education Coordinator at Faith International Academy (FIA) in Davao City, Philippines. RCE helped us to get to the school as soon as we felt that we were fully funded. Although Special Education was my primary responsibility I also served in other roles such as the Admissions Chair, Child Safety Response Team member, chaired a subcommittee during the 2018 accreditation visit, helped with both volleyball and the school play. I was also part of a team that created this recruiting video:
